About Us
| Bert Cebular, Founder Bert is the founder and fearless leader at NYCeWheels. He seems to know everything about electric bikes, scooters, folding bikes and life in general - without ever referring to a book or manual (at least in front of us.) | ||
| Mr Bailey Mr. Bailey is the head of security at NYCeWheels. He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and an enthusiastic chaser of squirrels. When not keeping a watchful eye on the ongoing affairs at NYCeWheels, he enjoys following Bert on his Brompton, begging to go to his favorite corner bar (Bailey's Corner pub) and reading The Economist. | ||
| Ismael (Izzy) Izzy is the service manager at NYCeWheels. He oversees the repair and assembly of everything we sell. Izzy has been working with Bert since 1996 and he can replace a battery pack blindfolded. We've only seen Izzy take a break once, and it was for roughly ten seconds. His work ethic is both inspiring and intimidating. When his cousins Rey and Omar are in the shop to help they form an unstoppable tag team of repair glory. | ||
| Harrison Harrison is a dude. A bike-selling dude. The Bearded Salesmaster, they once called him. These days he's relinquished the face weeds for a more aerodynamic look that shouts "I'm into Black Flag and hardcore punk in general." During his tenure at NYCeWheels, Harrison has developed a lovable hardboiled quality to him. Gruff yet polite. Mothers-lock-up-your-daughters, yet excuse-me-Ms.-allow-me-to-get-the-door-for-you. Heavy metal and cordial handshakes. Harrison trains in jiu jitsu so that he can kick ass all of the time. No further lessons on etiquette, however, were deemed necessary. This guy knows his dessert fork from his salad fork. What a worldly dude! Except on select days, Harrison has begun to slip into the more hidden recesses of the shop. Autographs and pictures of you on his lap are still honored on any of the days that he can be found at the sales desk. | ||
| Charlie Charlie is a rising superstar here at NYCeWheels. With a devoted fan club and several recent blogs established in his honor, Charlie has already begun to develop a confidence about him that any customer would find insatiable. Charlie also speaks Spanish, which creates a distinct air about him in the shop. One would best describe it as a rich, layered charm. It combines Antonio Banderas' debonair with Luis Guzman's earthier open-shirted charm (circa Boogie Nights.) One thing is for certain: Charlie is glorious. | ||
| Megan Now-a we saw Megan come down on the scene. Oh Foxy. She made us wanna get up and-a scream. (At which point Bert sang:) "Foxy, oh baby listen now / I've made up my mind, I'm tired of wasting all my precious time / You've got to be all mine, all mine." Bert was of course referring to, in song, the protracted pains one endures in the hiring process in hopes of finding a highly qualified employee among the countless applicants. We found Megan. The decision was both immediate and unanimous. Now the staff at NYCeWheels collectively sings: "Ooh, Foxy Lady, yeah yeah / oh yeah Foxy / yeah, give us some, Foxy / Foxy Foxy." And, of course, what we are asking her to give to us is access to her many skills and a continuation of the excellent performance she exhibits every day. Megan's flexible sense of humor is a welcome addition to the shop. | ||
| Thomas Stumbling upon a strange, glowing motorcycle in a junkyard, young Thomas found himself mystically transformed into Ghost Rider, the living Spirit of Vengeance, upon touching it! Thomas instantly turns into the "hot-headed" vigilante whenever innocent lives are threatened, using his enchanted chain to deal out his harsh justice to the guilty. But even more horrifying is Thomas' penance stare, which he uses to torment his enemies with all the agony they've ever inflicted upon others. Despite his uncanny aptitude for terror and vengeance, Thomas is actually a lovely young man, as cordial as he is helpful. Don't hesitate to ask him for help in the shop, and bring the kids! Thomas loves children.
